W.W.K.I.P. Day was today (well, yesterday now)!

I know several of you know that I was looking forward to participating! I was so excited about it that I even have my own post on this too cool blog AND I am even mentioned personally in the sidebar toward the bottom under the heading, "The 'Un-official' and 'Knit where I can, when I can' groups!" Now, this says EXCITED, doesn't it?! And, oh boy, I have been so excited about it, Lonnie and I were going to go out and about town and take pics of him knitting (even though he can't) and of me and other people who asked questions....ahhh, the plans! Well, you all know that I live my life on which is no biggie, I've learned to live with it, I can deal with the constant pain in my left hip and leg, not a problem, usually, because I know it's always there. WELLLLL, just look at my ankle (my left of course)2 days ago (my right doesn't look much better). Then, in just a few hours that golfball size protusion around my ankle became the size of a softball or bigger (trust me, the actual size of the ankle isn't represented in the photo!). Now you ask...how did you do it, Becka?! I don't know, walking down the hall!
All that to say I didn't get to do all of the knitting around town that I wanted to do. Our daughter and great niece had their dance recitals today and we went to the 2nd 1/2 of the matinee (Shannon was only doing tap and jazz). And I have a photo essay of Lonnie and me and our WWKIP Day, here ya go....
We head to the theater, a gorgeous refurbished building We arrived a bit before intermission so I prepared and began to knit (socks for Lonnie for Father's Day) I'm happy to say that as people asked about the knitting Lonnie gladly showed everyone his socks and told them they would never wear another sock that wasn't knit for you (he made me feel so good!). Well, intermission was over and we sat in the back because the aisle is very much downhill (I would never have made it back up the aisle, how sad is that?! For goodness sakes, i sound like an OLD WOMAN and I am NOT!). Needless to say the photos weren't great, but you do see knitting in each one! the dancers were fantastic!! I miss not seeing recitals in a few years, I'm so happy Shan is dancing again! Yeah, I admit it, I became a bit obsessed with "Knitting over Broadway" since I didn't get to go out and about as I had hoped, it was fun, though! Here we have my gorgeous daughter after finishing the matinee don't know what's up with the goofy grin, LOL! She danced BEAUTIFULLY! My great niece, the too darling Ryleigh was wonderful, as well. It's her mother, my favorite niece, DEBBIE WHO READS MY BLOG that wants me to teach her to knit. I've told Debbie, call me, I have the needles, I have the yarn, you won't need a thing! Again today she said she wanted me to teach her to knit! So, I'm stating it to the world, Deb....I WOULD LOVE TO TEACH YOU TO KNIT, JUST CALL ME!!!! Silly Woman (family trait, we are all silly, rather crazy, and darn proud of it!).
Okay, recital is over, it was fun, fun, fun. I must admit, I have way more fun than Lonnie, but his baby is dancing and he wouldn't miss it for the world! FYI, not only is he the best husband in the world, best dad, too!!!!
From recital we go to the store, Lonnie asks that I not go in so I will not have to walk on the bad ankles, hip, leg (goodness, if I were a horse, I'd have been shot years ago!). So, Lonnie's WIP Sock and Luscious (yarn holder's name) didn't want to sit in the van, they love having their pics taken, so I did, while Lonnie was in ....notice I'm still knitting, and in public!! Lonnie comes out of Target with something that Luscious, WIP FD (Father's Day, shhh) Sock and I LOVE, LOVE!!!! Optimash Prime Transformer Potatoe Head!!!! He will join the rest of the PHeads around here, we LOVE THEM!!!

Okay, okay, I can't leave without showing off my yummy yarn holder! Well, ya'll know that the pretty round ('member, the one who calls herself "Luscious) one arrived, but I hadn't shown you a photo isn't she pretty with Lonnie's WIP FD socks?! And then the cream Bex arrived, sublime I also have a green one like this, but I so want a pink, and a blue, and probably every other color I see...except for this heinous one I've seen a few times that looks like a child painted the flowers, trouble is, it's supposed to look like that!

I'm asking again, nay, I'm BEGGING ya'll to please forgive me for not getting around to blogs. I've had a pretty rough several months with my hip/leg (wow, since before Christmas!) and health problems with family members, etc. And I've neglected checking your blogs as I should, I promise it's not on purpose, because I miss you all so much. Well, it's now 3:30a.m. and I am going to (I so hope) go to sleep. I can't wait to find out how/if ya'll celebrated WWKIP Day...I really do hope you didn't celebrate it as I did, LOL! I had fun, don't get me wrong, it just hurt a bunch, LOL!

Oh, oh, I have one of the "A Touch of Whimsy Sock" patterns written and OTN, would be done but I had almost forgotten Father's Day (Lonnie's certainly not my dad, but I do give him gifts to thank him for being such a great dad!) so I had to put them aside to knit socks for Lonnie...and ya'll know it's KILLING me to have so many projects going at the same time!!! OH, the other good news, I have yet another "A Touch of Whimsy Socks" pattern, too, so there will be 2 designs.

Happy Knitting and God Bless
becka
PS, please excuse any and all spelling, grammar, or whatever faus pax because I'm tired and hurting and have decided I'm not gonna proofread this post, good night one and all!!!

I did indeed knit in public on Saturday though, to be honest, I didn't know it was knit in public day! Whoops! But I did work on a sock. Sorry to hear that you are having such trouble with your legs. I'll be thinking of you tonight when I go to sleep. Don't worry, I've been falling behind on blogging and reading and commenting too. It's the summer blahs, I guess. Seems to be going around!

It's your FAVORITE NIECE...it was so sweet of you to put up the cute picture of my dancing angel. She did so good, didn't she? Okay the challenge is out, call me and let me know what night you have free and I'll be there to learn. The kids are having their b-day party this weekend and birthdays are Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, but after that I am free whenever you have time. I just want simple, a baby blanket or something like that, those awesome socks may be too much...I am seriously craft challenged!!!

Love Ya

Deb

My sister is a real trouper! Even with ankles the size of a small child, she knits. She is wonder woman for sure. Now she's giving knitting lessons - guess I'll have to jump on that band wagon and learn it myself. Seriously, you are a wonderful sister who lets me vent and then laughs it off. Thanks for putting me in my place. Love you to the moon. Sis

Oww, ouch! Best wishes for you!

Your knit in public day looked fun. What beautiful girls! I missed it, though. I'm sure if I were out in public, I was knitting, as usual, but I missed it! Darn. LOL
