Yeah, baby...YARN PORN! But, not as much as you may think considering she is having this giant moving sale (as mentioned in the previous post). You see, I am a certified
YARN HO yarn snob and I went to the shop with certain yarns in mind. First of all, I want to knit the Fair Isle Jazz scarf (you can see it on the 1st page as you look thru the book
here)from the book Scarf Style and I actually want to use the yarn and colors recommended in the project because I love them! Well, I've been to several yarn shops to find it, but hardly any shops carry Mission Falls wool, so I will order it, no biggie...well, that discount would have been nice! Then there were a few other yarns I had in mind and she was sold out. So, we (Lonnie was off and took me
) got there shortly after she had opened and there were quite a few people shopping, as you would expect! We went to the sock yarn corner and I had so wanted to get a couple of hanks of Mountain Colors Bearfoot sock yarn for Lonnie, but she was out, so we got
3 balls of this light brown heathered sock yarn for Lonnie (I'm currently working on that pattern) and
a couple of light gray sock yarns for Lonnie for bike riding to work (these socks won't need to have such a long leg) and
3 skeins of med. blue Regia Cotton sock yarn for Lonnie so that he can have some cool socks for hot weather. You know, here in the south one would think that it would be easier to find bamboo sock yarn in shops, but it's NOT...sorry, I've looked and looked and can't find it in a shop, I will now just order it! Then, as we were walking by this basket I saw the yummy
Jagger Spun Zephry 50/50 tussah silk/merino lace wt yarn....PERFECT for the lace in Victorian Lace Today or any other lace scarf. We then looked about some more, I wanted to reknit my Backyard Leaves scarf in another color and Lonnie chose
this very tweedy purple Lamb's Pride and I will have enough to do the scarf and her accessories!
So, that was all for that trip.....then, as we were sitting down to lunch I had a
moment when I realized that I should have bought some yarn for my
KH Yarn Swap Pal! And, my
dear
husband being the dear that he is said we'll just go back later today...and we did. I then got her 3 hanks of Malabrigio and 2 skeins of sock yarn
Since this is a one time swap, I don't mind doing a bit of teasing, so I posted it on the KH swap thread, too,
LOL, that's just the kinda girl I am, LOL! And me being me and My Man being him, I had to get
2 more balls of the Jagger Spun Zephyr for me...I now have enough of one colorway to do a shawl and a scarf in the other!!! Ahhhhhhh, yarn shopping soothes the inner Yarn Ho in me.....
On a side note, do any of you have a
SmugMug account? I'm very seriously thinking about getting one since Lonnie surprised me with the Photoshop Elements 5 software for my laptop...it has a feature where you can make lovely galleries and upload them directly to SmugBug. My galleries will then have a more professional look rather than just putting photos in Blogger...not that there's anything wrong with that, this would just look nicer, especially for the Knitters Gallery....thoughts?!
Oh, and I just finished the last thing for Shannon's Easter basket, the
Fuzzy Dice.
I would have been happier with smaller pom poms than those recommended in the pattern but these bad boys aren't coming off, LOL! All in all, I think they will be fine for her car!
Speaking of Easter baskets, I had better get these put together....
Happy Easter one and all....He is Risen!

Way to enhance the stash!
*wishing you and your family a Happy Easter*
Lovely yarn you brought there! Isn't the Zephyr lovely? I got one ball from my last SP and just keep touching it, it's too beautifull to knit it!
Happy Easter to you too!
Ooh, ooh, ooh! You lucky lady! Those fuzzy dice are just too cute. Happy Easter.
OMGosh! I *love* the fuzzy dice! Hee. And the stash enhancement looks like a very respectable start. :->
Have a Blessed Easter! God Bless!

Lots of nice yarn...and cute fuzzy dice!! All my boys still get Easter baskets...even though the oldest is 20 now. What I do for one, I have to do for the others. ;)

Well, I just got to get better at knitting so I can justify the "good" yarn. LOL.
