WIP Sock's Sunday Journey

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone is having a blessed day, too! We certainly have had a wonderful day! You see, My Man is a singer and guitar player and he plays in the band at our church, they are fantastic, by the way. Not only are we blessed with an extraordinary young minister, but our music program is outstanding, it's composed of some of the greatest musicians and singers that our city has had in the past 30 years, My Man being one of them. I wish that I had some of his music to play online, but I do not. The recordings that I get at church just don't do him or the rest of the band justice. Anyway, since he's in the band we have to go to church early so they can practice. The past several weeks WIP Sock has been joining me. Sock is a very slow work in progress, I'm afraid, I usually complete a pair of socks in a few short days, well WIP Sock has been around for a long while, since I decided to try my hand at multiple knitting projects OTN at the beginning of summer (which I still don't like, but I think that I may have a pair of socks OTN at all times for just such an occasion as today)! Since he is such a lively travel companion (remember a couple of weeks ago during the day trip with me and My Man ...WIP Sock is a lot of fun to have around!) I am knitting WIP Sock very slowly, I just like having him around when I'm out, he's great entertainment for me and several others who are always asking about him, he's small, he fits very nicely in my new bag and I really think that he is enjoying himself, too! He's always up for a photo, my goodness, he hopped right out when we were in the restroom at the mall (remember The Princess and the Pea [pee]), you see, WIP Sock just likes to hang out with me, I wonder how he is going to react when he becomes Sock 2 to the Sock 1 that is complete and goes to live with My Man?! I know he is going to love living with My Man just as much as I do! After church today (by the way, our sermons are now available via podcasts; have a listen when you get a chance!) we decided that we would go to the food court at one of the malls here in town and I must say, Subway serves a yummy salad! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly then headed over to Sears to have a look at the exercise bikes and I am happy to say that we left with this one! I'm so excited, you see, this is one of the 2 exercises (the other being swimming) that I am allowed to do since I have such problems with my hip and leg. Oh, WIP Sock is very excited, too, but when the salesman was checking to see if the exercise bike was in stock WIP Sock curled up with Sock 1 on my purse and went fast asleep. You know, there's not anything quite as satisfying as a Sunday afternoon nap, so who can blame The Sock Brothers?! Anyway, I wasn't able to get a picture of WIP Sock when he was riding the exercise bike in Sears, by the time I'd gotten my camera out, they were sleeping so peacefully so I chose not to disturb.

One of my great-nieces goes to our church, so I was able to give her her raglan top and Anthropologie Inspired Capelet this morning, tell me, how cute is she?!
Last night I started on Rusted Root by the girls at Zephyr Style. I am loving knitting this top! It's got just enough lace to keep me interested, but not so much as to drive me crazy. These ladies have a very well written pattern, too. I highly recommend it. I hope the recipient enjoys the top! I'm off to knit on RR right now...enjoy the day one and all!
One more thing, I almost forgot...I've decided what the next blog contest is going to be...it is going to be funny and a whole lotta fun...STAY TUNED!

You have a very cute(great)niece there!!

Your sock appears to have been carefully nurtured, looks very happy, well balanced, loved, and seems to come from a healthy home environment. I'm sure it will be very accepting of a companion to share the ups and downs of daily life.

Have socks will travel? I'm glad you found just the right balance with traveling socks and 1 WIP! Life would be boring if we were all the same :)

You are such a tease about the contests! LOL
