You want me to WHAT?!

This is exactly what I felt that Moshi, my cat thought as I took away his box and replaced it with the kitty pi cat bed that I had knit for him!! He really gave me the LOOK, the look that said, "You want me to WHAT?!" Imagine, this look from a cat, not one of your children that you told that he/she had to take out the trash or do the dishes!!! But, from a cat!!
He did take the time to investigate the bed before I felted it. And, at the time, there was no LOOK, of course, because his box was still in the picture.
Even after felting he nosed around in the bed a bit. Again, his box is still in the house.
Well, this morning I removed the box. Yep, out the back door and into the trash can, the box is now history. The kitty pi bed has been put in it's place. I was feeling rather proud of myself, I had knit a bed for the cat, the striping was done using the fibonacci sequence, boy, don't I feel smart?! The yarn was chosen to match our colors (even though the colors are atrocious when taken with the digital camera...trust me, my colors aren't bright like the blue in the photo, neither is the kitty pi bed, that would be my bad photography ). Yes, indeed, I was feeling right nice...until I saw this! Yeah, Mo gave me the LOOK (of which I didn't capture because I was stunned and didn't have camera in hand!)!! He, by no means, meant to grace the kitty pi bed with his hefty self! I can only hope that one day he decides that he wants to make me (the one who brushes and feeds him!) happy and curl up in his extra large kitty pi bed (yeah, I say extra large because I went to the trouble to make it bigger so his big self would fit...he weighs 17 pounds afterall!!). Until then, no boxes shall remain in my home for his pleasure. So, THERE, that's what happens when I get the LOOK from my cat!
I readily admit that I can't remain mad because he won't get in his bed....could you?! Just look at that face!

Yeah, my cat doesn't really sleep in her kitty pi, either. She did a couple of times, but she does play with it, and she sort of uses it for a pillow sometimes. Give Moshi some time, maybe he'll learn to like it.

ps: The letter on the bag on my blog: I just sketched it on some graph paper until it looked right, then I used the graph paper like a knitting chart. I don't know if I did it right, but it worked!!

Moshi's adorable! The cat bed is great, and I'm sure he'll use it when *he's* ready (and you're not looking or don't have a camera). My cats adore boxes too, right now Sophia is trying to sit in one that I can't fit my foot in, I'm surprised she can breathe squeezed into that thing.

I hope he decides to give it a try! Right now my cat is sleeping peacefully on a box of file folders--you never can tell with them.
