Hat Wearing Dog

My Man and I went out of town yesterday, well, we weren't alone as you can see, Sally loves a good road trip! While My Man was driving, I was, of course, knitting, as usual. A knitting girl can get a LOT done on a road trip, too. A knitting girl can also pass away the time antagonizing her pup. As you can see, Sally is modeling my WIP, "A Touch of Whimsy" hat, knit to go with the scarf of the same name. I must say, Sally is a good sport! I was so mad, I forgot to pack dpns or another circ for the small diameter knitting at the top of the hat! But, all was well, I had Rusted Root to work on, too. Since I didn't pack dpns or another circ, I didn't finish "A Touch of Whimsy" hat on the trip, but I did finish it when I got home. I would have been finished much earlier in the week, but I have been playing and playing and playing with Photoshop!

I set up another blog, Whimsical Knitting Designs where my patterns are now hosted. I find that they are much easier to access and I can now easily check them to see if anyone leaves a comment. I also put all of my patterns in document form, all info is found on the other blog, of which you can easily link by clicking on any pattern in the sidebar. Yeah, I have been BUSY! And not the good busy (that being knitty busy)! Well, I have gotten a good deal of knitting done this week, but not as much as I normally do.

Speaking of knitting this week, I did say that I would have "A Touch of Whimsy" hat pattern done this week in honor of Fake International Knitting Week, and I did! It is complete and the pattern is right here. ENJOY! I had originally intended to design a pattern that complemented the scarf rather than matched it exactly and I wrote a few different designs, but I wasn't happy with any of them, so I went back to my 1st thought, hope you like it.
I hope to design fingerless gloves to go with, but that won't be until after Rusted Root is done.

OMGoodness, OMGoodness, OMGoodness!! I had planned on buying the yummy Catalina Baby Silk from DivaKnitting as my next yarn purchase, but I could NOT contain myself after I received an email announcing the yarn sale at Little Knits whereupon I came across the Cash Iroha bag sale! I had to get it! My goodness, it was even the light blue colorway that I have been wanting! I know there are those of you who don't like Noro yarns! I do, I love the colorways! I especially love Cash Iroha, just look at the fiber content: 40% Silk, 30% Lambswool, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon! What's not to love, I ask?!

Just to let ya'll know, I have another blog contest coming up..... .....I wonder when....hmmmmm......

Ha ha! Love the hat photos! Poor pooch ;) Great job on the new design!

Silly me, I saw the same post at the top (your new gallery) didn't notice you had dated it to the end of the year, and missed that you were still posting underneath!

I'm so sorry about the confusion!
I made the first post a sticky so that it will remain on top, I am hoping to solicit knitters who have knit my patterns so I can put pics of their FOs in the Knitters Gallery. I figure that's the least that I can do after someone is nice enough to choose to knit one of my patterns :0)!

What size does hat knit up? I would love to knit it for my 12yo daughter! Thanks, KimB

The pattern is 20 inches around, it will stretch to fit up to 22 or 23 inches, I'm sure.

Lol, you made me laugh with this one! A good thing at 6:30am when you have to leave home in 30min. God, I'm such a whiner, but it's hard to adapt after such a long summer break.
Anyway, have you seen this:

Totally cool, wish I had enough time to make one...
